Police
and local authorities and finding the Mosquito an invaluable
tool in the battle against anti-social behaviour, and are
recommending it to businesses and other organisations throughout
the country.
The unit generates an annoying high-frequency sound which
is generally only audible to people under the age of 20.
Usually people over this age have lost the ability to hear
at this frequency.
Mosquito has been used around the country to disperse
troublesome youths from wherever groups of teenagers tend
to congregate, including shopping areas, train and bus
stations, public buildings, fast-food outlets and car parks.
The device has a range of about 20 metres, and takes effect
in just a few minutes, but the noise will not travel through
windows or walls so legitimate
customers, staff or neighbours will not be affected.
The noise created by the Mosquito is very irritating,
but not harmful, and the device is totally legal and passed
as safe to use.
Available as a simple-to-fit DIY kit or professionally
installed, Mosquito can be fitted with a timer and a motion
sensor or other accessories if required.
