The safety of employees in the workplace is one of the
primary concerns of any employer, particularly if the staff
member is working alone or in a potentially dangerous situation.
Employers have a duty of care to provide adequate safety
measures for their staff in all circumstances, and must
assess the potential risks of any working situation. Team
Security Systems Ltd are suppliers of an Endangered Worker
Protection device that enables users to summon assistance
and have their location tracked in an emergency, and record
cases of verbal abuse or escalating aggression.

The device
is based on an ID card holder, and can be worn on a clip
or hung around the neck on a lanyard. On the back of the
card holder is a RED ALERT panic button. Holding this down
for two seconds will immediately open a communication link
with our monitoring centre, from where a suitable response
will be organised. Our operatives will locate the device
wearer using the built-in Global Positioning equipment
and dispatch the correct emergency service to that location.
There is no audible alarm on the device, therefore no risk
of aggravating an aggressor in a conflict situation.
The second aspect of the device is the AMBER ALERT button,
which is used when the device wearer is entering into a
potentially dangerous situation. Activation of the button
starts a timer at the monitoring centre, where the wearer
can also leave a recording of their location or details
of the situation that they are about to enter. If there
is no cancellation of the activation within the agreed
timescale the alarm is upgraded to RED ALERT and the appropriate
action taken.
